US Youth Soccer has crowned the 14 champions of the 2013 US Youth Soccer Region I (East) Championships, via success in the state and regional championships of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series.

Champions were named on Tuesday at the 2013 US Youth Soccer Region I Championships at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I. The U-17 Boys OBGC Rangers (MD) were the only local team to take home a title.

The Washington Post published a story yesterday that alleges fewer opportunities and lower-quality facilities, fields, uniforms, lockers and coaching for girls' sports in District of Columbia public schools. The result is a formal Title IX complain filed against DCPS by the National Women's Law Center.
