Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association to launch ENY Xpressway League in fall 2015
The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association has introduced the ENY Xpressway League (ENYXL), which will kick off in fall 2015. The new league will start small with small-sided games in the Under-10 to Under-12 age groups for both boys and girls travel teams.

Tri-State area ECNL review: May 2-3, 2015
Tri-State area ECNL clubs World Class FC, PDA, FSA FC, Connecticut FC, Albertson SC, East Meadow SC and World Class FC faced off this weekend in local competition. Meanwhile, Match Fit Academy and PDA battled Pennsylvania sides Continental FC DELCO and FC Bucks in addition to local matches. As expected, there was shakeup throughout the ECNL Northeast Conference in several age groups.

NJCSA hires Anthony Tuesta and Gabriel Michelle in youth development roles
New Jersey Cedar Stars Academy (NJCSA) has announced the hiring of Anthony Tuesta and Gabriel Michelle as youth coaches. Tuesta and Michelle will oversee and be responsible for the U8 - U12 Northeast Pre-Academy (NEPAL) and Elite travel league teams, as well as the Junior Development Academy (JDA) for ages 5-7.

Baltimore Celtic SC, FC Frederick teams excel in Maryland State Cup Finals
The Maryland State Cup U-12 through U-17 finals took place on Sunday at the Maryland SoccerPlex. Three Baltimore Celtic SC teams - U-13 Darby, U-14 Dynasty and U-16 Baltimore Celtic SC - captured titles on the boys side, outscoring opponents by a combined scoreline of 8-0. Five FC Frederick teams advanced to the finals, with the U-13 and U-15 girls winning championships.

Potomac area ECNL review: Maryland United U-16s revive playoff hopes with two wins in Ohio
While some Potomac area ECNL players took part in the Mid-Atlantic Player Development Program event in Richmond, Va., Maryland United traveled to Ohio as a club and several other local U-14 sides competed in divisional match-ups. Top performances on the weekend included the Maryland United U-16s who went a perfect 2-0-0 with wins against Ohio Premier and Internationals SC, and the Maryland United U-15s who earned two draws against the same clubs.

Maryland United FC adds high profile coaches to ECNL and boys coaching staff
Maryland United FC has added former D.C. United Academy coach Jon Norem to the boys coaching staff and Ohio Elite coach David Stockum to the ECNL staff. Stockum will oversee the club's U-16 and U-17 ECNL teams, while Norem will work on the boys side of the club.

Bethesda SC hires Shannon Higgins-Cirovski as Girls Director of Coaching
Bethesda Soccer Club President Greg Dillon announced Thursday, April 30, 2015, the hiring of Shannon Higgins-Cirovski as Bethesda Soccer Club’s Director of Coaching for our Girls Program. Cirovski is a former US Soccer National Team standout, George Washington University and University of Maryland women’s head coach as well as the US U18 National team girl’s head coach. Higgins-Cirovski will begin her duties in leading the program this May.

Dure: Brainstorming a coaching curriculum for parent coaches
Parent coaches often receive absolutely no guidance in dealing with challenging players in "house" or recreational youth leagues. So Beau Dure has offered up a semi-serious suggested curriculum for these brave volunteers.
