US Youth Soccer ODP Boys Thanksgiving Interregional schedule released
US Youth Soccer has announced the schedule for the annual US Youth Soccer ODP Boys Thanksgiving Interregional, set to take place Nov. 24-28 at Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, Ariz. Participating teams will be comprised of players in the 2002 and 2003 age groups, from each of the four US Youth Soccer Regions.
Everton FC to defend Dr Pepper Dallas Cup title
The Dr Pepper Dallas Cup, the oldest and most prestigious international youth soccer tournament in the United States, has announced the return of English club Everton FC to the elite Gordon Jago Super Group. Everton will return looking to win their second consecutive iconic “Boot and Ball” at Dr Pepper XXXVIII, which will be held April 9-16, 2017. Next spring will mark the club’s third straight Dallas Cup appearance and their fifth appearance overall.
NJ Youth Soccer Presidents Cup, Commissioners Cup champions crowned
The 2016 NJ Youth Soccer Presidents Cup and Commissioners Cup tournaments were decided at Bordentown Friendship Field this past Sunday. This event concluded the statewide competition that included teams representing the U11-U14 age groups. Winners of the NJYS Presidents Cup will now represent New Jersey in regional competition against other state champions.
Nine Arlington teams advance to VYSA State Cup, Presidents Cup finals
This past Saturday, four Arlington teams won their VYSA State Cup semifinal game and advanced to the State Cup finals. Sunday was just as successful as five Arlington teams advanced to the VYSA Presidents Cup finals.
Bill Holleman elected to NSCAA Hall of Fame for class of 2017
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has announced that William T. “Bill” Holleman, a longtime high school coach and administrator in both North Carolina and Georgia, has been elected to the NSCAA Hall of Fame as the single honoree in the Class of 2017. He will be inducted on Friday, January 13 at the Association’s annual Awards Banquet in conjunction with the NSCAA Convention in Los Angeles.
Eastern Regional League, Elite Tournaments announce partnership
The US Youth Soccer Region I Eastern Regional League and Elite Tournaments have announced a partnership for 2017 that will provide new showcase and group play opportunities. The joint effort will see teams from the Mid-Atlantic and New England states battle in league play within the structure of Elite Tournaments’ current event schedule.
U.S. U-16 Boys National Team falls 3-0 to Russia, 2-0 to France
The U.S. Under-16 Boys’ National Team finished third out of four teams in the Val-de-Marne Tournament, after falling 3-0 to Russia and 2-0 to France.
