Players That Impressed: ECNL Girls San Diego National Event (Fall 2026)
The ECNL Girls San Diego Event took place from October 10-12 at Surf Sports Park in Del Mar, CA as top teams in the U12-U15 age groups went head-to-head.
Despite rainstorms rolling through and interrupting part of the weekend’s action, the teams were able to get back on the field for the final day of competition and crown champions across the divisions. ECNL San Diego annually serves as a major development opportunity for players who are preparing to begin the college recruiting process in the coming years.
Below are some of the top players from the event, sorted by graduation year. You can also nominate a player who stood out during the event through the following link.
2031
Chloe Allen | Forward / Midfielder
Lonestar SC U15 (TX)
A Class of 2031 prospect playing up in the U15 age group, Allen piled up 6 goals over the course of 3 straight victories for Lonestar SC, which won it all in the U15 Premier Division. Allen was simply unstoppable for Lonestar, bringing speed, technical precision and physicality to the field in San Diego, thriving in what is proving to be a really exciting attacking unit.

Corolyn Boyd | Goalkeeper
Eagles SC U14 (CA)
Boyd worked with the Eagles SC U14 back line to secure 3 consecutive clean sheet victories as they rolled to a first place finish in the U14 Premier Division. After a dominant 4-0 win over Pleasanton Rage in the tournament opener, Eagles SC delivered back-to-back 1-0 wins over Colorado Rush and Phoenix Rising Youth. Boyd and her defensive teammates ensured that one goal would be enough to win each of those games, as they communicated well and distributed with precision out of the back.
2030
Kensington “KB” McGrath | Forward
San Diego Surf U15 (CA)
The two-time ECNL Girls National Champions continued to deliver excellence while playing in the event on their home fields, securing the U15 Phantom Division championship. McGrath was dynamic on the attacking side for Surf, scoring goals and making key passes during the event, which was highlighted by a pair of high-flying victories over Mustang SC and MVLA SC.

Kensie Cabral | Defender
San Diego Surf U15 (CA)
Cabral anchored the San Diego Surf U15 defense during another outstanding showing, which ended with the team adding another piece of hardware to their trophy case. The U.S. Youth National Team center back is such a dominant force in the middle that she regularly forces opposing offenses into indirect and ultimately inefficient approaches to trying to score goals. Even elite offenses like Bay Area Surf and MVLA SC only mustered a goal each against Surf, which won the U15 Phantom Division.

Amari Hill | Defender / Midfielder
LAFC So Cal Youth U15 (CA)
Hill delivered the game-winning penalty kick to lift LAFC So Cal Youth to the U15 Tiempo Division championship on Sunday. LAFC opened the tournament with a 5-0 win over Pleasanton Rage, and ultimately emerged in a PK shootout against Pateadores in order to lift the trophy. Hill is a talented center back and defensive midfielder who plays a major role on a defense which proved dominant in San Diego.

Rubi Sosa | Midfielder
LAFC So Cal Youth U15 (CA)
On the rain-shortened weekend, Sosa came through with a pair of successful penalty kicks which were crucial in LAFC So Cal Youth’s title run in the U15 Tiempo Division. Sosa converted her attempts in the semifinals against LA Breakers and in the final against Pateadores, after helping the team open the weekend with a 5-0 rout of Pleasanton Rage.

Kinley Minyard | Forward / Defender
Lonestar SC U15 (TX)
Minyard helped guide Lonestar SC to the U15 Premier Division title, as the team rolled to three straight clean sheet victories by a combined margin of 10-0. Minyard showed why she’s viewed as a U.S. Youth National Team level talent with her relentless motor, making plays all over the field and putting constant pressure on opposing defenses.

Obriella Ojeda | Forward / Midfielder
Legends FC U15 (CA)
A member of the Philippines U17 Women’s National Team, Ojeda is really exciting with the ball at her feet, showing explosiveness and precision in tight spaces. She’s highly unpredictable for opposing defenders, who struggle to keep up when she’s constantly throwing them off with well-timed fakes and head movements when navigating with the ball. Ojeda got in the scoring and made numerous key passes during her team’s run to the U15 Mercurial Division title. (HIGHLIGHTS)

Zoey Bonomo | Defender
Legends FC U15 (CA)
Bonomo shined on the defensive side during Legends FC’s perfect three-game run at ECNL San Diego, as they captured the U15 Mercurial Division championship. The Legends FC defense conceded only 1 total goal in 3 games, including an absolute masterclass in their 1-0 triumph over Rebels SC in the final. Bonomo was outstanding on the outside, covering a ton of ground and wearing out her opponents with max-effort runs up the wing whenever she saw a chance at a counterattack. (HIGHLIGHTS)
