George Washington women’s soccer team adds two via the transfer portal
Head Coach Jeremy Williams and the George Washington women’s soccer team have announced the addition of two more players from the transfer portal ahead of the 2026 season. Joining the Revolutionaries are Ariana Gronauer from Temple and Lenea Guerrero from Youngstown State.
Gronauer, a 5-5 midfielder from Las Vegas, Nevada, joins the Revolutionaries as a graduate student with one year of eligibility remaining. As a redshirt senior in 2025, Gronauer appeared in 18 matches for the Owls, making 12 starts. She registered four goals on 10 total shots and was named Temple’s Athlete of the Week on Sept. 22.
Prior to her time in Philly, Gronauer spent four years at the University of the Pacific. After missing her entire rookie season due to injury in 2021, Gronauer went on to appear in 31 matches, making 19 starts. She finished her time with Pacific tallying two goals and three assists, putting four shots on goal. Gronauer graduated from Faith Lutheran High School, where she tallied 15 career goals and 19 assists. She was named a Second Team Lutheran All-American in 2020 and helped lead the program to a 4A state championship.
Guerrero joins the Buff & Blue after three seasons with Youngstown State. She was a key rotational player for the program in her first two seasons but missed her junior year due to injury. Guerrero lands in Foggy Bottom with two years of eligibility remaining. She appeared in 14 matches during her time with the Penguins, starting in six. She tallied one assist in her sophomore season and four total shots.
A graduate of Bishop Amat in West Covina, Calif., Guerrero was a four-year letterwinner, team captain and Hall of Fame inductee. She finished her varsity career with 41 goals and 50 assists, including 17 goals and 27 assists in her senior season. She helped lead the program to four conference championships and was honored individually as an all-league performer all four years.
