Players That Impressed: ECNL Girls Texas National Event (Winter 2026)

The 2025 ECNL Girls Texas National Event took place from February 14-16, as 208 of the nation’s best teams in the country competed in the U14-U18/19 age groups.

Despite some inclement weather causing delays and cancelations during the early portion of the showcase, teams rallied to the finish and put some excellent competition on display for the hundreds of college coaches in attendance. Many of the best prospects in the country showed their capacity for toughness and perseverance, in addition to their ability to play through rainy and windy conditions at a high level.

Below are some of the top players from the weekend’s event sorted by graduation year. You can also nominate a player who stood out during the event through the following link.

Avery Alley | Defender
Sting Austin 2011 (TX)

This standout defender is undoubtedly going to be a player to keep an eye on in the coming years, as she continues to develop and refine her game. Alley shined at the Texas Showcase during her team’s 3-0 clean sheet victory over Eastside SC anchoring the back line from her center back position. She also just announced that she’s been selected to represent the US Youth Soccer ODP National Team at the U15 level.

Sting Austin 2011 (TX)

Williams is coming on strong as an attacking player to know from the Class of 2029. Representing Sting Austin 2011, she came through with a tough goal against Minnesota Thunder Academy on the final day of the Texas Showcase, drilling a one-touch shot amid traffic in the box, following a service sent in from Jacklyn Dashnaw. Brooklyn Baskin

The First Team ECNL All-Conference defender was extremely active throughout both of Sting Black 2009’s matches during the rain-shortened showcase. Originally scheduled to play in the National Selection Game which was cancelled due to weather, Baskin turned her attention to helping Sting Black dominate possession during their 7-1 rout of Oregon Surf. Eclipse Select SC 2010 (IL)

This versatile outside back and defensive midfielder showed a lot of toughness and perseverance during Eclipse Select SC 2010’s high-powered matchups against national powerhouses GSA and San Diego Surf. Leone and her teammates limited GSA (a team which has 68 goals in 15 league games on the season) to a single goal in Eclipse’s 2-1 victory. She also scored a goal against San Diego Surf.

Eclipse Select SC 2010 (IL)

Thomas powered the Eclipse Select 2010 attack over the course of their 2 games, scoring a goal in each contest. The Class of 2028 attacking standout came up especially big against GSA, netting the game-winner in a 2-1 battle to the finish.

Ahava Babajanov | Forward 
Challenge SC 2009 (TX)

This forward for Challenge SC 2009 and Israel’s U-17 Women’s National Team stepped up for her club at ECNL Texas with a huge goal during a 2-1 victory over Utah Avalanche. Babajanov broke the 1-1 tie by delivering the game-winner, which came via an assist off a corner kick sent in by Chuckie Murray. Babajanov closed the showcase by adding another goal in her team’s final game.

Reial Phongsavath | Midfielder
Utah Avalanche 2010 (UT)

Reial made a strong statement at the ECNL Texas National Event with her technical quality and attacking creativity on full display. She scored an impressive free kick from outside the 18-yard box against Classics Elite, helping her team secure a convincing 2-0 win. Throughout the match, she consistently unlocked the defense with countless well-weighted through balls that put her teammates in dangerous positions.

Utah Avalanche 2010 (UT)

Ari showed up ready to play at ECNL Texas, scoring 2 goals in as many games. Her first score came against Classics Elite, as she intercepted a pass while high-pressing, before hitting the net inside the far post. Her second goal was scored against Dallas Texans as she made a run with a perfect pass from Jane Hellewell.

Repping PDA White 2009, Hogan was solid between the posts as her team posted an unbeaten 1-0-2 record, conceding only 2 total goals over 3 games. Hogan contributed to the team’s clean sheet effort against Sporting Blue Valley, making some tough saves and working in lockstep with her back line throughout the showcase. Olivia Reddick

TX

Reddick was completely locked in during her team’s back-to-back clean sheet victories. The uncommitted Class of 2027 defender lined up at every position on the back line over the course of the showcase, contributing seamlessly to Albion Hurricane FC’s lockdown team performance. (HIGHLIGHTS)

Dallas Sting Black 2009 (TX)

This uncommitted Class of 2027 midfielder serves as a team captain for Sting Black 2009, and she’s coming off a season in which she earned Second Team ECNL All-Conference honors. Brundage brings a high work rate, sound passing and field vision to her team where she’s a two-way contributor. She got in on the scoring against Oregon Surf during the 7-1 victory. (HIGHLIGHTS)

Challenge SC 2009 (TX)

Murray is already well-known for her defensive prowess as a center back for Challenge SC 2009 in the talent-packed ECNL Texas Conference. At ECNL Texas, she stepped up in a big way on the offensive side as well, delivering both assists during her side’s 2-1 comeback win over Utah Avalanche. (WATCH)

Olivia Hernandez | Defender
FC Wisconsin 2009 (WI)

This uncommitted outside back from the Class of 2027 had a busy weekend in Texas, making an impact all over the field as she covered a ton of ground for FC Wisconsin. Hernandez had a passing success rate of 92% while winning virtually all of her defensive duels and providing numerous clearances to shut down opposing possessions.

Solar SC 2009 (WI)

Harig continue to impress with her physical play defensively, as well as her ability to anticipate and beat attackers to the ball. She has great field vision and precision passing, forcing opposing teams to honor her as a threat on both sides of the field. Solar had an impressive weekend overall on the defensive side, highlighted by a clean sheet effort against FC Stars Blue. (HIGHLIGHTS)

The future Oklahoma Sooner showed out for Sting Royal 2008/2007 in the final showcase game of the team’s club soccer career. McCallister racked up 2 goals and 1 assist during the 6-0 rout as Sting finished with a perfect 3-0-0 record at the event.

Leah Simpson

Forward
TX

As she quickly moves toward beginning her college career at Saint Louis University, Simpson showed that she’s in strong goal-scoring form, finding the net in 2-of-3 games for Sting Royal 2008/2007.
