Nevada women’s soccer head coach Vanessa Valentine departs program

RENO, Nev. – Vanessa Valentine has stepped down as Nevada Women’s Soccer head coach, Director of Athletics Stephanie Rempe announced Thursday.

“I am incredibly grateful to have led this exceptional group of women for the past three seasons. Stepping away from this program was an extremely difficult and personal decision, and one I did not make lightly. I want to thank President Sandoval and Stephanie Rempe for the opportunity they provided me to serve as head coach. I will always be proud of what we accomplished together as we elevated the program to new heights,” Valentine said.

During her three seasons leading Wolf Pack Soccer, Valentine earned 14 victories and twice matched the program’s highest win total in Mountain West play (2023–24). She guided Nevada to two appearances in the Mountain West Tournament, marking the program’s first trips since 2013.

“We wish to thank Vanessa for her commitment and competitive spirit in leading Nevada Women’s Soccer. She brought an energy and presence that elevated our program and helped return it to levels of success not seen in nearly a decade, including two appearances in the Mountain West Tournament. Vanessa was a consistent and positive presence on our campus and in our community, and she leaves the program well-positioned for future success. We wish her the very best in her next chapter,” Rempe said.

A national search for the next Wolf Pack head coach will begin immediately.
