Wyoming head coach Colleen Corbin joins Saint Louis University coaching staff

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University head women’s soccer coach Katie Shields has announced the hiring of Colleen Corbin as the Billikens’ associate head coach. Corbin served as head women’s soccer coach at the University of Wyoming the past three seasons.

“I am thrilled to welcome Colleen to our staff,” Shields said. “She brings tremendous experience to our program as an elite student-athlete and successful Division I coach. Throughout the process, Colleen’s ability to creatively communicate and consistently build relationships was impressive. She is a relentless recruiter, positive-culture builder, and elite competitor.

“As a two-time All-American and former professional athlete, Colleen has been in the shoes of our women and will be a tremendous role model in their individual growth,” Shields said. “Additionally, her experience as a successful Division I head coach and associate head coach will provide depth and knowledge as we continue our collective pursuit of excellence.”

“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the SLU women’s soccer family and to become a Billiken,” Corbin said. “I want to first extend a huge thank-you to Katie, Director of Athletics Chris May, and Deputy Director of Athletics Dr. Janet Oberle for believing in me and providing the incredible opportunity to join this intensely competitive, dynamic, and special program. Katie and her staff have worked tirelessly to build and solidify a culture of excellence, and I am beyond honored to be a part of it.

“My husband, Nick, and I look forward to integrating into the St. Louis community and taking advantage of all the things this amazing city and university have to offer,” Corbin said. “I can’t wait to get my feet on the ground and get to work. ROLL BILLS!”

A native of La Cañada, California, Corbin guided Wyoming to a Mountain West Conference regular-season co-championship and was named the league’s Coach of the Year in 2022.

Prior to her stint at Wyoming, Corbin served as associate head coach at James Madison (2018-20) and was an assistant coach at Arizona State (2016) and Cal State Northridge (2014-15). She helped James Madison win the 2018 Colonial Athletic Association regular-season title.

Corbin played collegiately at Oregon State, where she earned All-America honors as a goalkeeper and set school career and single-season records for goals against average and shutouts. She helped lead the Beavers to the NCAA Championship round of 16 in 2009 and to national tournament appearances the following two seasons. Corbin is a 2012 graduate of Oregon State with a bachelor’s degree in education.

Corbin went on to play two seasons of professional soccer. She was part of a Western New York Flash team that captured a Women’s Premier Soccer League title, and she played for the Boston Breakers of the National Women’s Soccer League.
