VYSA set to install new turf fields at Virginia Soccer Training Center
(Via VYSA) – The Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) has announced that they had awarded a contract to Sports Construction Management, AstroTurf and Brock International to install the Virginia Soccer Training Center’s (VSTC) first two artificial turf fields at the recently opened 50 acre complex located in Spotsylvania County, VA.
The three companies have also entered into a multi-year marketing agreement with VYSA and will become the category exclusive partner of VYSA and VSTC. Construction will begin shortly with completion expected in June. The two fields will be a lighted contiguous FIFA regulation size utilizing the AstroTurf GameDay Grass 1.5 Extreme over the Brock SP-14 Shock Pad which will require less infill and is proven to reduce sports injury risk.
VYSA President Denise Edwards commented “After a long and involved search for the optimal products and installation expertise, we are pleased to have selected AstroTurf, Sports Construction Management, and Brock International as our partners as we continue the development of the Virginia Soccer Training Center”.
“Congratulations to Virginia Youth Soccer Association for realizing a long-term vision with development of the Virginia Soccer Training Center. VYSA has a national and global reputation for professionalism” said AstroTurf Director of Soccer, Anthony DiCicco. “From our first conversation they understood that exceptional fields involve having great field builders like Sports Construction Management, the proven safety of Brock’s shock attenuation pad and the playability that can be achieved through more fiber density and less infill utilizing AstroTurf’s RootZone technology. VYSA is leading the soccer community to safer, better-performing fields and we’re pleased to be part of the team supporting them through that process.”
“Sports Construction Management is proud to join VYSA as their athletic field building partner and we look forward to beginning construction on the new synthetic turf soccer fields at VSTC. As a national leader in the synthetic turf field building industry in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond, we welcome the opportunity to serve VYSA and to providing the highest quality synthetic turf soccer pitches available with our team of SCM, AstroTurf, and Brock” said SCM Partner Leroy Lawson.
“The Virginia Youth Soccer Association has made a long term commitment to building the safest, best performing synthetic turf fields possible,” commented Ronnie Pascale, Eastern Region VP for Brock International. “This was evident from the beginning with their diligent research and commitment to finding the right partners for this project. Our shock pad testing shows that the system being installed at the VSTC will not only provide a playing surface that will very closely resemble the best natural grass fields, but it will also provide a safe surface for years to come. Brock International is extremely excited to be a part of the team building the synthetic turf fields at the Virginia Soccer Training Center.”
