USSF Pres. candidates to speak at United Soccer Coaches Convention

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Via United Soccer Coaches) – The 2018 United Soccer Coaches Convention from Jan. 17-21 in Philadelphia will feature all eight individuals running for U.S. Soccer President ahead of the 2018 U.S. Soccer Presidential Election on Feb. 10.

United Soccer Coaches, which invited each candidate to speak, will host the following spotlight sessions open to all registered attendees inside the Pennsylvania Convention Center:

Thursday, January 18
9:30 a.m. ET: 1-on-1 with Kathy Carter (203AB)
11:00 a.m. ET: 1-on-1 with Michael Winograd (203AB)
2:30 p.m. ET: 1-on-1 with Paul Caligiuri (105AB)
4:00 p.m. ET: 1-on-1 with Kyle Martino (103AB)

Friday, January 19
9:30 a.m. ET: 1-on-1 with Hope Solo (105AB)
11:30 a.m. ET: 1-on-1 with Steve Gans (203AB)
2:30 p.m. ET: 1-on-1 with Eric Wynalda (201ABC)

US Youth Soccer will also host a Candidate Forum at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 20 in the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown Grand Ballroom G/H featuring all eight candidates. Veteran broadcaster J.P. Dellacamera will moderate the forum, which will be streamed live on YouTube and Facebook.

The 2018 United Soccer Coaches Convention will feature numerous presenters from the U.S. Soccer Federation, headlined by current U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati and U.S. Soccer Youth Technical Director Tab Ramos.

The five-day schedule for PHL18 is also highlighted by several previous U.S. Soccer players and coaches, including Bruce Arena, Yael Averbuch, Erica Dambach, Charlie Davies, Anson Dorrance, Carin Gabarra, Laura Harvey, Stuart Holden, John Kowalski, Alexi Lalas, Lori Lindsey, Kristie Mewis, Janet Rayfield, Sigi Schmid and Danielle Slaton.

Arena and Dorrance will be inducted into the United Soccer Coaches Hall of Fame, while Gabarra will be recognized with the Women’s Soccer Award of Excellence. The U.S. Paralympic National Soccer Team, led by head coach Stuart Sharp, will also receive the 2017 United Soccer Coaches Honorary All-America Award.
