UMBC women’s soccer unveils 2025 signing class, highlighted by 7 Maryland natives

BALTIMORE – UMBC women’s soccer head coach Rick Stainton has announced the Retrievers’ incoming class for the 2025 campaign.

Seven of UMBC’s nine newcomers are in-state recruits from Maryland.

“We’re excited to welcome this outstanding group of young women to our program,” Stainton said. “This class brings a dynamic blend of collegiate experience, local pride, and high-level club success. With seven of the nine newcomers hailing from right here in Maryland, there’s a strong connection to our home state and a deep commitment to competing at the highest level. From proven goal-scorers and defensive anchors to championship-tested leaders, this group will make an immediate impact and help push our program forward from day one.”

UMBC 2025 Incoming Class

Payton Foster, JR, Forward, 5-10, Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional

  • A transfer from Iona University, where she appeared in all 20 games with 14 starts in 2024
  • Ranked second on the team with 12 points and 11 shots on goal last season
  • Tied for team lead with six goals
  • Logged 1,073 minutes played
  • Led the team and ranked third in the MAAC with four game winning goals
  • Registered two multi-goal games in wins over Temple (Aug. 29) and at Rider (Oct. 16)
  • Made 15 appearances as a freshman in 2023

Kalli Williams, GR, Goalkeeper, 5-6, Port Republic, Md./Calvert

  • A goalkeeper at Towson after beginning her career at Saint Peter’s
  • A dual-sport athlete in soccer and lacrosse at Calvert
  • Led Calvert to the 2020 2A state title as the starting goalkeeper
  • Played at the club level for Maryland – Elite SC, leading the team to the 2021 Maryland State Cup championship

Cece Price, GR, Forward, Potomac, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel

  • A transfer from the University of Florida, making 16 appearances during her career as a Gator.
  • Recorded assists against South Florida and Missouri
  • Named to the 2019 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) All-Conference first team
  • Helped lead Good Counsel to the 2018 and 2019 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Championship
  • 2019 Good Counsel captain and recipient of Coaches’ Award
  • Member of the McLean Youth Soccer ECNL 2018-2019
  • McLean ECNL won 2017-18 and 2018-19 Mid-Atlantic U-18/19 Conference titles
  • McLean advanced to ECNL Champions League National Playoff in 2019 and 2020
  • Olympic Development Program member for two years

Cami Mink, FR, Defender, 5-4, Elkton, Md./Rising Sun

  • Selected as the 2023 and 2024 Cecil County Player of the Year
  • Earned Honorable Mention All-State accolades in 2024
  • A First Team All Division Susquehanna/Chesapeake and First Team All Cecil County, all four years at Rising Sun
  • Scored the game-winner to send Penn Fusion’s ECNL (Elite Clubs National League) team to the Round of 16 in the 2024 National Playoffs

Delainey Proctor, FR, Midfielder, 5-4, Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright

  • Selected as the Harford County Player of the Year in 2024 after earning First Team All-State, First Team All-County, First Team All-Conference, and First Team All-Metro accolades
  • Helped lead C. Milton Wright to the state finals in 2024
  • Named First Team All-Conference in 2022 and 2023
  • Named First Team All-County in 2023
  • Played at the club level for Baltimore Celtic GA coached by UMBC Men’s Head Soccer Coach, Anthony Adams

Olivia Nardone, FR, Defender, 5-6, Millersville, Md./Archbishop Spalding

  • A member of the Annapolis Blues FC USL W League this summer
  • Selected as a two-year captain (2023/2024) at Spalding
  • Named to the 2023 and 2024 Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland (IAAM) “A” All-Conference Team
  • Received 2023 Maryland Second Team All-State honors
  • Named to the 2023 and 2024 Baltimore Sun All-Metro First Team and earned Washington Post All-Metro Honorable Mention honors in 2023 and 2024
  • A 2023 and 2024 First Team All-County selection
  • Played at the club level for Baltimore Celtic GA coached by UMBC Men’s Soccer Coach, Anthony Adams

Hailey Ahmed, FR, Defender, 6-0, Oceanside, CA/Rancho Buena Vista

  • Named to the First Team Coastal (NCC) League in 2024 and 2025 and was selected as the league’s Most Valuable Player
  • Led her squad to the Avocado League Championship in 2023 and 2024
  • Rancho Buena Vista was also crowned Division III CIF Champions in 2023 and 2024
  • Played at the club level for City SC San Diego, and the squad qualified for the Academy National Playoffs for five straight years (2021-2025)

Bella Adams, FR, Forward, 5-6, Linthicum Heights, Md./Mercy 

  • Played at the club level for Baltimore Celtic GA, where she was coached by her father, Anthony Adams, the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at UMBC
  • The squad qualified for the national playoffs for three consecutive years
  • Received the first ever James Haislip Award in 2025 for 10+ years of loyalty and dedication to Baltimore Celtic
  • Also competed in Indoor Track & Field for Mercy

Nia Hudson, FR, Forward, 5-10, Bowie, Md./Severn

  • Opened her career at CMIT Academy, where she was the team’s leading scorer and captain in 2021. Scored the game-winning goal in the state semifinals in 2021 for CMIT
  • Finished career at Severn School and led the squad in scoring in 2022 and 2023
  • The Admirals made the conference semifinals in 2022 and 2023 and appeared in the Conference finals in 2024
  • Member of the Olympic Development Program Regional Team in 2021, 2022, and 2024
  • Played at the club level for Maryland United and Bethesda Soccer Club (ECNL)

The Retrievers open the season at Wagner on August 14 and open the home season versus Mercyhurst on August 17
