U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team ties Japan, advances to 5th place match at Mondial Minimes tournament
The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team tied Japan 1-1 at the 40th Mondial Minimes in Montaigu, France, advancing to the tournament’s fifth-place match 4-3 on penalty kicks.
Bradford Jamieson IV scored his second goal of the tournament in the 40th minute, but Japan equalized just five minutes later.
The U.S. then converted four penalty kicks to Japan’s three to advance to the fifth-place match, where it will face Mexico at 10:30 a.m. local time on Monday, April 9.
