U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team ties Honduras, beats Costa Rica in the Copa Saprissa Internacional

The U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team tied Honduras 1-1 in the second game of the Copa Saprissa. Corey Baird scored the lone U.S. goal in the 28th minute.

In their third match of the tournament, the U-17’s defeated Costa Rica 3-2. Rubio Rubin opened the scoring in the 18th minute and John Requejo, Jr., tallied the team’s second goal in the 32nd minute.

Costa Rica pulled one back just before halftime in the 35th minute before Rolando Muñoz scored the third and final goal for the U.S. in the 57th minute. Costa Rica scored again in the 62nd minute but couldn’t find the equalizer.

All matches at the tournament are 70 minutes long. The U.S. will next face Chorrillo FC on June 26, and before closing out the tournament against Mexico on June 27.
