U.S. U-16 Girls National Team roster selected for July camp and Mexico friendlies

ATLANTA – U.S. Under-16 Girls’ National Team head coach Katie Schoepfer has named 24 players for a training camp at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Fayetteville, Ga. that will run from July 24 through Aug. 2.

The USA will face its Concacaf counterparts from Mexico in two matches, on Wednesday, July 29 (6 p.m. ET) and Saturday, Aug. 1 (10 am ET). Both games will be held on Field 3 at the U.S. Soccer NTC. This is the second training camp for the U.S. U-16 WNT at U.S. Soccer’s new home.

This group of players is training to qualify for the 2027 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. The games against Mexico will be the 10th and 11th international matches of the year for U.S. U-16 GNT. The USA has compiled a record of 5W-2L-2D in those games against European powers Germany, Belgium, Spain, Denmark, England, Netherlands and Sweden.

The roster is made up of players from 19 youth clubs with Mountain View Los Altos out of Northern California having three players on the roster while Penn Fusion Soccer Academy, the San Diego Surf SC and Solar SC out of the Dallas area have two players each. There are seven players from California on the roster.

The camp and matches are a part of the Federation’s continued focus on the U.S. Way philosophy, which emphasizes increased programming for Youth National Teams to create more opportunities for young players to advance through the pathway to the senior National Team with the goal of representing their country at a world championship.
