U.S. U-16 Boys National Team holding October training camp with 24 players

ATLANTA – U.S. Under-16 Boys National Team Head Coach Ross Brady has named a 24-player roster for the team’s domestic training camp to be held from Oct. 22-29 in Chula Vista, Calif.

This is the sixth time the Under-16 BNT will come together this year and the second camp under Brady, who took over in September after leading the U.S. Under-15 BNT through its previous cycle. This camp gives Brady another opportunity to evaluate and build the 2011 birth-year player pool.

The roster features players from 12 Major League Soccer academies. Atlanta United, FC Cincinnati and Houston Dynamo lead the way with three players each, followed by two each from the Los Angeles Galaxy, New York City FC, Orlando City SC, Red Bull New York and San Jose Earthquakes. Nashville SC, Portland Timbers, Real Salt Lake and Seattle Sounders FC each send one player.

There are 13 states and the District of Colombia represented on this roster. California and New York lead with four players each, while Arizona follows with three.

This camp is a part of the Federation’s continued focus on the U.S. Way philosophy, which emphasizes increased programming for Youth National Teams to create more opportunities for young players to advance through the pathway to the senior National Team with the goal of representing their country at a world championship.
