U.S. MNT announces friendly vs. Italy on Nov. 20 in Genk, Belgium

CHICAGO (Via U.S. Soccer) – The U.S. Men’s National Team will close out 2018 with its final Kickoff Series match against four-time World Cup winners Italy on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Luminus Arena in Genk, Belgium. Live coverage of USA-Italy will be broadcast on FS1, UniMas and UDN at 2:45 p.m. ET.

The game will round out the MNT’s Kickoff Series, a six-game slate of matches against Top-25 ranked FIFA opponents scheduled to present an earnest challenge to the developing side at the start of the new World Cup cycle. By the time the match against Italy rolls around, the MNT will have faced Brazil, Colombia, England, Mexico and Peru this fall, as well as playing France in their last match before heading to Russia to win the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The USA holds a 1-7-3 all-time record against the Azzuri. Memorably, the two sides drew 1-1 during the group stage of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, with Italy going on to win their fourth title that year. The USA earned its lone win in the most recent meeting, using a Clint Dempsey strike to take a 1-0 victory on Feb. 29, 2012 in Genoa.
