Stanford lands U.S. U-17 standout Andi Sullivan from Bethesda, Md.
By Charles Boehm
Andi Sullivan has been lighting it up for her Bethesda SC Freedom Under-17 team as well as the U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team, and now she’s decided to continue her career with the reigning NCAA College Cup champion Stanford Cardinals.
A smart, skillful midfielder who can also contribute in attack or defense, Sullivan (Lorton, Va.) will follow in the footsteps of Alex Doll, another top Bethesda product who is presently completing her freshman year in Palo Alto and played a side role in the PAC-12 powerhouse’s impressive run to the national championship.
Stanford are coached by Paul Ratcliffe and are expected to contend for another title despite losing impact senior Teresa Noyola.
The Soccer Wire spoke with Sullivan about her career to date during last month’s Jefferson Cup in Richmond, Va.
