Semifinal match-ups set for MLS is Back Tournament

The MLS is Back Tournament Semifinals are now set with the Philadelphia Union set to take on the Portland Timbers and Orlando City SC to face Minnesota United.

See below for recaps and highlights from Saturday’s quarterfinal matches:

Minnesota defeated San Jose 4-1 behind goals from midfielders Robin Lod (20th minute) and Jacori Hayes (21st minute) in the first half, followed by forward Luis Amarilla (56th minute) and midfielder Marlon Hairston (86th minute) in the second half. The Loons will play Orlando City SC in the MLS is Back Tournament Semifinals on Thursday, August 6 at 8 p.m. ET (ESPN2 / ESPN Deportes / TSN / TVA Sports 2).

Portland beat NYCFC 3-1 despite trailing for much of the first half. Midfielder Sebastian Blanco scored the equalizer in the 43rd minute with a nice curler in the box, while captain Diego Valeri gave the club a lead in the 65th minute.
