Seattle Sounders beat Colorado Rapids for USSDA U-17/18 third place

U-17/18: Seattle Sounders 2, Colorado Rapids 1
(Via U.S. Soccer) – In the U.S. Soccer Development Academy U-17/18 third place game, after Colorado dealt Seattle an early blow, it would ultimately be Seattle’s day with come-from-behind 2-1 win to ensure a bronze finish to the 2016-17 season.
Colorado’s first half punch came in the 26th minute when forward Enoch Mushagalusa shielded his defender from a launched pass from his left back. After jockeying for position and winning the battle, Mushagalusa quickly fired the ball into the net.

Bouncing back quickly, Seattle’s Milo Barton made certain to even the score line in the 37th. A free kick sent the ball into a dangerous area of the box, and after Colorado’s inability to make the clearance, the ball landed at the feet of Barton, who slammed it past the keeper.
Despite a well-fought first 40 minutes of the second half, Seattle captain Paul Rothrock was not looking to end his season without a victory. The midfielder made a steal towards the center of the field before motoring his way up into Colorado territory, fending off a challenger before slotting the ball past the goalkeeper for the 2-1 eventual game-winner.
