Robert Morris University women’s soccer team brings in 11 Class of 2025 recruits

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Robert Morris University women’s soccer team announced the addition of 11 incoming freshmen who will join the program for the Fall 2025 season.

Head Coach Michelle Rick and her staff are excited to welcome a class, comprising three forwards, two midfielders, four defenders and two goalkeepers.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome this exceptional class of 11 freshmen to the RMU Women’s Soccer family,” said Rick. “This group brings a tremendous amount of talent, athleticism, and character from various top clubs and high school programs. They are not only accomplished players but also dedicated students who are eager to contribute to our program’s success. We believe this class will play a vital role in our continued growth and pursuit of a Horizon League Championship.”

Sydney Chontos | Freshman | Forward

A standout from Beaver Area High School in Beaver, Pa., Sydney Chontos excelled in both soccer and track and field. In 2024, she earned numerous accolades including All-State, All-WPIAL, WPIAL All-Star, All-Section, Tribune-Review All-Star, and Beaver Area Offensive Player of the Year. She captained her team in her senior season. In 2023, she was tabbed All-WPIAL, All-Section, and her team’s Offensive Player of the Year, also earning All-Section honors in 2022. Chontos finished her high school career with an impressive 60 goals and 27 assists.

Sydney’s Goal: “My goal for this season is to make an impact on the team. I hope to have a successful career and to continue playing after graduation.”

Akeelah Mirza | Freshman | Forward

Hailing from Brampton, Ontario, Akeelah Mirza attended North Park Secondary School. She brings a winning pedigree, having won the Ontario Cup in 2023. Mirza was a Top 10 scorer in IModel 2023, ranked 49th in FTF Soccer Canada, and was a TOPP Elite Showcase All-Star in 2022. She is also a two-time PHSL Champion.

Akeelah’s Goal: “I look forward to training, playing, working hard, scoring goals, learning and growing from mistakes and setbacks, and building strong relationships with my teammates.”

Alayna Williams | Freshman | Forward

A native of Latrobe, Pa., Alayna Williams attended Derry Area High School where she was a multi-sport athlete, competing in soccer, volleyball, and track and field. She honed her skills playing for the Riverhounds Academy (ECNL) under the guidance of Scott Gibson, a highly respected club program.

Alayna’s Goal: “My goal this season is to help the team in any way I can whether that is on the field, at practice or on the sidelines, and become the best player I can be.”

Izzie Fusco | Freshman | Midfielder

From Avon, Ohio, Izzie Fusco attended Avon High School. She was named to the 1st Team SWC and 2nd Team Greater Cleveland. Fusco played a pivotal role in leading her high school to the State Semifinals for the first time in school history. Her teams achieved significant success, winning Districts and Regionals in 2024, a Conference title in 2022, and Conference and District titles in 2021. In total, she contributed to 61 high school wins, producing 25 goals and 15 assists.

Izzie’s Goal: “My goals for this season are to start and play, win the Horizon League and make it to the NCAA Tournament.”

Francesca Villa | Freshman | Midfielder

A native of Twinsburg, Ohio, Francesca Villa attended Walsh Jesuit High School. She helped lead her team to an undefeated season and a spot in the State Championship in her senior year. Villa was also recognized with the Coaches Player Award.

Francesca’s Goal: “This season I want to be a beneficial player and leader on the team.”

Bailey Campbell | Freshman | Defender

From Virginia Beach, Va., Bailey Campbell attended Floyd E Kellam High School. She was named All-Region Second Team in both her junior and senior seasons and captained her squad in her senior year. Campbell was a part of teams that won the State Championship in 2024 and the Regional Championship in 2025. She recorded 12 goals and 24 assists in her high school career. In the off-season, she plays semi-pro soccer for Beach FC (WPSL).

Bailey’s Goal: “This season I hope to learn from my coaches and teammates while adjusting to the demands of college soccer. My goal is to contribute in any way I can and continue developing both on and off the field. I’m excited to grow as a player, teammate and student-athlete.”

Ivy Chaskelson | Freshman | Defender

A native of Wayne, Pa., Ivy Chaskelson attended Radnor High School. In 2024, she earned the Radnor Golden Boot Award and was named All-Delco 1st Team, All-Main Line 1st Team, and All-Central League 2nd Team. In 2022, she was named All-Delco 2nd Team and All-Main Line 2nd Team. Chaskelson captained her squad in 2024 and scored 10 goals and 11 assists her senior year. She was part of a team that won the District Championship in 2021 and reached the state final.

Ivy’s Goal: “I want to make an immediate impact as a freshman in whatever way I can and continue to pursue my love for the game as I simultaneously work on my studies to become a doctor.”

Eily Duffy | Freshman | Defender

From Fitchburg, Wis., Eily Duffy attended Verona Area High School, where she played both soccer and basketball. She earned multiple All-Conference Honors, was named a captain, and led her team in both goals and assists. Duffy played club soccer for SC Wave GA 07, a team that ranked in the top 25 in the nation, and won the Midwest Conference Championship in 2024 and 2025. She led her high school team to an impressive overall record of 55-16-6 over her four years.

Eily’s Goal: “This season, I plan to make an impact on the team and contribute to the success and culture of the program both on and off the field.”

Maggie Marlin | Freshman | Defender

A native of Greenwood, Ind., Maggie Marlin attended Center Grove High School, participating in soccer, cross country, and track and field. In her single high school soccer season, she led her team in minutes played (1,819) and scored two goals. Her team won the Sectional, Regional, and Semi-State Championships, and was the State Runner-Up in 2024. Marlin was named the team’s Defensive MVP and was Academic All-State. She played club soccer at both Indy Eleven Pro Academy and FC Pride, making it to the ECNL National Final Four and earning two ECNL Super Cup Selections.

Maggie’s Goal: “My goal is to improve as a player and earn as many minutes as possible as a freshman. I hope to win a Horizon League Championship during my four years at RMU.”

Alicia Gonzalez | Freshman | Goalkeeper

From Dallas, Texas, Alicia Gonzalez attended Bishop Lynch High School. In her senior year, she was named 1st Team All-State, 1st Team All-District, and Goalkeeper of the Year, highlighting her exceptional talent in net.

Alicia’s Goal: “This season, my goal is to be a strong and reliable goalkeeper, help my team succeed, and continue improving my skills. I also want to support a positive team environment and grow as both an athlete and a teammate. For my career, I hope to keep learning and building on the discipline and teamwork I gain from soccer.”

Rease Solomon | Freshman | Goalkeeper

A Pittsburgh, Pa., native, Rease Solomon attended Penn-Trafford High School, where she played soccer and track and field. She earned numerous local honors, including Big 56 1st Team, All-WPIAL, and All-Section recognition.

Rease’s Goal: “My goal for this season is to start games and make an impact from a defensive standpoint.”
