(Via New York Red Bulls) – The New York Red Bulls and New Jersey Youth Soccer (NJYS) have announced the Red Bulls expanded involvement with the NJYS Young Olympians Program into the 11-year-old age group.

This news stems from a successful partnership between the New York Red Bulls and NJYS, in which the RBNY coaches were integrally involved with the NJYS 10-year-old boys Young Olympians. Since partnering with the Red Bulls in 2014, this program has identified players who have been selected for NJYS’ Olympic Development Program (ODP) and players who have been signed into the Red Bulls’ Academy. As a result of their success over the past two seasons, the organizations have now agreed to work together with the 11-year-old.

“This is a logical and exciting step for our organization” said David Jervis, director of training programs. “Over the last two years we have worked very closely with NJYS and have seen a direct improvement in the level of talent and excitement surrounding this program.”

This program creates a direct pathway for players to progress into NJYS’ Olympic Development Program and the Red Bulls Regional Development School Program and Academy teams, a nationally ranked developmental program. The Red Bulls expanded involvement with the ODP program will mirror the 10-year-old program, with training to be delivered by Red Bulls youth coaches. For registration and further information regarding programming for 10-year-olds (now called “Club NJYS” for birth year 2005) and 11-year-olds (called “Young Olympians” for birth year 2004) visit the ODP page on www.njyouthsoccer.com.
