MLS 22 Under 22 List revealed as Alan Velasco becomes 3rd straight FC Dallas player at No. 1
Major League Soccer has released the 22 Under 22 List for 2023, highlighting the top players across the league under the age of 22. The list was voted on by an expert panel consisting of select MLS staff and MLS Season Pass talent.
FC Dallas midfielder Alan Velasco topped this year’s group, becoming the third consecutive FC Dallas player to earn the honor. Velasco follows in the footsteps of FC Dallas Homegrowns Jesús Ferreira and Ricardo Pepi, who topped the list in 2022 and 2021, respectively.
On this year’s list, 14 of the 22 players are from an MLS NEXT academy. Four of the featured players are still only 18 years old: Noel Buck, Benjamin Cremaschi, Caleb Wiley and Owen Wolff. Inter Miami leads all clubs with three players selected.
