Midfielder Sarah Killion added to USWNT training camp roster

CHICAGO (Via U.S. Soccer) – U.S Women’s National Team head coach Jill Ellis has added Sky Blue FC midfielder Sarah Killion to the WNT’s January Camp roster, upping to the total number of players in camp to 30. The first training camp of the year will take place from Jan. 13-23 at U.S. Soccer’s National Training Center in Carson, California.

Killion was a key player for Sky Blue FC in 2016, starting and playing every minute of all 18 games in which she appeared during the 20-game NWSL season. She scored three goals and had one assist while playing primarily defensive midfielder.

The senior team call-up is the second for the uncapped Killion, who was also part of the 2014 Algarve Cup training camp roster. Additionally, she has extensive experience at the Youth National Team level and alongside fellow January Camp roster call-ups Morgan Brian, Crystal Dunn, Julie Johnston, Samantha Mewis and Kealia Ohai, was a member of the 2012 U-20 Women’s World Cup championship squad in Japan, where she started as a center midfielder.
