Local joins U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team in Madrid, Spain for training camp and international competition

Local midfielder Patrick Foss (D.C. United; South Riding, Va.) is traveling with the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team, which has arrived in Madrid, Spain, for 12 days of training at the Spanish FA’s Cuidad de Futbol. Head coach Wilmer Cabrera will also lead his team in friendlies against youth teams from Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano, as well as two matches against Spain’s U-17 MNT.

During the trip, the team will gain valuable international experience as it moves toward the 2011 CONCACAF U-17 Championship, which will be held in Jamaica from Feb. 12-28. The roster for the Fall Semester of U.S. Soccer’s Residency Program will be announced on Wednesday.
