Fresno State welcomes pair of California-based Class of 2025 recruits

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State women’s soccer head coach Brian Zwaschka announced the addition of two freshmen to the roster for the 2025 season. The Bulldogs add Abigail Herren and Addison Sanchez to the roster. Both are California natives.

Last season, she finished with a team-leading 32 goals and 22 assists for a team-high 36 points. She helped Fresno Christian to a 19-3 overall record and a 9-0 mark in the Northwest Sequoia League.

In her high school career, she was a four-time first team all-league selection, and earned NWSC Defensive MVP honors as a sophomore. She was the conference MVP her senior season. She has club soccer experience with ALBION SC Central Valley and Fresno Freeze. Herren appeared in the NPL All-Star Game following her senior season, and was named the Player of the Match for the game.

Sanchez is a graduate of Buhach Colony High School in Atwater, Calif. She played all four seasons on the varsity squad and did a little bit of everything over the years. In 2024, she appeared in seven games and scored 10 goals with five assists. She played club soccer for West Coast Soccer in the Girls Academy.

The Bulldogs have three new additions for the 2025 season, including San Jose State transfer Payton Hoover. Fresno State announced its 2025 slate last week, unveiling 10 chances to catch the ‘Dogs at home beginning with an exhibition on August 7 against Pacific.
