Former DA club Charlotte Soccer Academy joins ECNL Girls

RICHMOND, VA – Former U.S. Soccer Development Academy club Charlotte Soccer Academy will be joining the ECNL Girls in the 2020-2021 season.
The addition of Charlotte adds more competitive strength into the Mid-Atlantic Conference, and welcomes back a former club into the ECNL Girls.
“With today’s announcement Charlotte SA becomes the next ‘All-In’ club in the ECNL,” said ECNL Girls Commissioner Jen Winnagle. “We are excited to welcome them back into the league, and to continue to work to unify the game.”
Charlotte SA consists of approximately 120 competitive girls teams and 150 other girls recreational teams amongst multiple branches serving the Charlotte metropolitan area. CSA coaching staff includes many USSF “A” and “B” Licensed coaches and has seen 5 players called into US Soccer youth national team camps in the last year.
“Charlotte Soccer Academy is incredibly excited to join the ECNL Girls for the 2020-21 season,” said Girls Director Brian Moore. “The ECNL Girls is the ideal platform for our players to grow, and we look forward to re-establishing healthy, competitive rivalries within the league. We are truly grateful for this opportunity and thank the ECNL for accepting us.”
Nearly 90% of ECNL Girls alumni move on to play in college, overwhelmingly dominating the 2019 individual conference honors in the “Power 5” conferences. In total, over 1,100 ECNL Alums played this year in these five conferences, accounting for more than 62% of all rostered players in the Power 5.
