ECNL Roundup: Good weekend for Freestate, FC Bucks

Under-14

In Mid-Atlantic Conference play, first place FC Virginia (8-1-1, 2.50 ppg) won twice, notching a 3-0 win over McLean Youth Soccer and a 4-1 win over Freestate Soccer Alliance.

Second place Ohio Premier Eagles (5-0-2, 2.43 ppg) faces a test this weekend when it travels to Virginia this weekend for a pair of games, at Richmond to take on the Strikers (4-3-2, 1.56 ppg) at Capital Park and Sunday against FC Virginia at E.C. Lawrence Park in Centreville. FC Virginia also hosts Ohio Elite Soccer Academy (2-2-3, 1.29 ppg) Saturday.

U-18

Two of the top three teams in the Elite Clubs National League U-18 Mid-Atlantic Conference standings picked up wins over the weekend, as Freestate Soccer Alliance beat McLean Youth Soccer 1-0 Saturday, while Ohio Elite Soccer Academy scored two wins on the weekend, 4-1 Saturday over Penn Fusion SA and 5-0 over FC Bucks.

Penn Fusion SA rallied Sunday for a 1-0 win over Ohio Premier Eagles.

OESA, 4-2-0 overall, has played just six matches of its ECNL schedule. All but two division teams have played at least five matches, with FC Virginia and McLean having played 12 matches each.

U-17

In the Mid-Atlantic Conference, FC Virginia sits comfortably atop the table at 10-1-1 and didn’t play this past weekend, so it was a chance for other teams to improve their own standing.

Freestate Soccer Alliance scored a 3-1 win over McLean Youth Soccer, while Ohio Elite Soccer Academy lost twice over the weekend–5-4 to Penn Fusion SA and 2-1 to FC Bucks. In other division play, Penn Fusion SA and Ohio Premier Eagles played to a 2-2 draw.

U-16

In Mid-Atlantic Conference play, Ohio Elite Soccer Academy split its two games over the weekend, winning 1-0 against Penn Fusion SA and losing its first match of the season to FC Bucks by the same scoreline.

Ohio Elite Soccer Academy is 5-1-0 this season, with six of the nine teams in the division having played between four and seven games. Only FC Delco, with just two win in two games, has played fewer, while McLean Youth Soccer, Richmond Strikers and FC Virginia have all played 12 games.

Ohio Premier Eagles, meanwhile, picked up four points on the weekend, playing to a scoreless tie with FC Bucks and holding off Penn Fusion SA for a 2-1 win. In the other conference match, Freestate Soccer Alliance defeated McLean Youth Soccer 4-1.

U-15

FC Bucks (4-0-0) continued its unbeaten streak at the beginning of its ECNL Mid-Atlantic Conference campaign, scoring two 1-0 wins over Ohio Premier Eagles and Ohio Elite Soccer Academy. Both Ohio Premier and Ohio Elite lost twice on the weekend. McLean Youth Soccer is in second place with a 8-3-1 mark and a 2.08 ppg average, taking a 5-0 win over Freestate Soccer Alliance.
