ECNL Girls Regional League Finals 2025: U13-U17 Championship Recaps

The final day of ECNL Girls Regional League National Finals meant it was time to crown five new ECNL Regional League Girls National Champions.

Just like in the ECNL Regional League Boys National Championship Games on Monday, Tuesday’s games were full of first-team clubs, as six of the ten finalists were such clubs. In addition to the first-team clubs, West Side Alliance, who claimed the U16 ECNL Regional League Girls National Championship, recently earned their promotion into the ECNL Girls for the 2025-26 season, and is another example of the pathway for successful ECNL Regional League clubs to earn their promotion into the ECNL.

Get caught up on who all five of the new ECNL Regional League Girls National Champions are below.

U17 Regional League National Champion – Team Boca Soccer

The U17 ECNL Regional League National Championship featured a matchup between two sides who took contrasting paths to earn their spot in the championship game. Rebels SC came into Tuesday’s championship with a high-flying offense that had scored seven goals over their quarterfinal and semifinal matches, while Team Boca entered the championship game on the heels of back-to-back clean sheets.

Team Boca got on the board just seven minutes into the title game when Maiya Castillo broke through the Rebels defense, dribbled out wide around the goalkeeper, and finished off a shot from a wide angle to put Boca on top 1-0.

Team Boca continued to control the first half of the game and in the 16th minute, it paid off as Lola Hathorne got a cross at the top of the box and finished it in the corner to double the Team Boca lead.

Team Boca took their 2-0 lead into the half and when the second half started it didn’t take long for them to tack on the third. Just 90 seconds into the second half, Mary Hartofilis squared a ball in front to Julianna Liguori who fired it home for Team Boca’s third.

In the 58th minute, Rebels battled back when Jasmine Bartels played a long distance free kick into the box that managed to perfectly find the top left corner of the net and get Rebels on the board, as they looked to rally back in the second half.

Despite the push from Rebels though, Boca was simply too much. With 15 minutes to go, Hartofilis stepped up on a set piece from just outside the top of the box and launched an unstoppable rocket into the corner to put Boca up 4-1 and secure the U17 ECNL Regional League National Championship.

After the game, Hartofilis was named the U17 Most Outstanding Player, but credited her teammates for all their success this season.

“I’m so happy. My teammates have been amazing and it wouldn’t be possible without all of them,” Hartofilis said. “We’ve been working so hard for this moment. I could not be more proud of my teammates and I’m just so thankful to my coaches for everything they’ve done all season. I’m so excited.”

U16 Regional League National Champion – West Side Alliance

The U16 ECNL Regional League National Championship Game saw West Side Alliance in action for the final time before their promotion to the ECNL Girls next season, and they quickly displayed the quality that showed why they are being promoted into the ECNL Girls this fall.

In the 11th minute, Gianna Incremona took on a defender and fired home the opening goal of the championship to make it 1-0 West Side Alliance. Incremona had been the star goalscorer for West Side all season, accounting for 60 percent of the team’s goals, and shined in the ECNL Dallas showcase event this season, scoring eight goals over three games.

In the 29th minute, it was Incremona again, as she made a nice turn inside the box and finished a shot in the lower left corner to double the West Side Alliance lead to 2-0.

Legends responded though, finding their breakthrough goal right before halftime on a shot at the top of the box from Sophia Punsalang to cut the West Side lead in half right before the break and firmly put Legends back in the game.

In the second half, West Side Alliance regained their two goal advantage with about 15 minutes left to play as Madeline Weed rose up in the box and headed home a corner for their third goal of the game.

Legends had a chance to cut the lead back down to one in the final minutes and potentially set up a chance for a late rally, but a penalty kick attempt rattled off the crossbar and West Side Alliance was able to see out the 3-1 victory to claim the U16 ECNL Regional League Girls National Championship.

Incremona, who was named the U16 Most Outstanding Player, said the win was so much sweeter after West Side Alliance suffered a defeat in last year’s U15 National Championship, and was able to avenge that loss in this year’s championship.

“Last year we came here as a strong team and we just didn’t make the cut in the final. To come back into the exact position we were in last season and finally get what was ours feels amazing.”

U15 Regional League National Champion –  Lobos Rush

The U15 ECNL Regional League Girls National Championship match featured two stalwart teams in Lobos Rush and Pride SC. Neither side had allowed a goal yet at the National Finals, and whichever side was going to break through first was most likely the team that would bring home the hardware.

For the first 20 minutes of the match, the two teams spent most of the time in the midfield, sporadically earning scoring chances but mostly playing their game, limiting opportunities for their opponents. But in the 20th minute, Lobos Rush earned a corner kick on the right side, and the ensuing pass was beautifully headed to the far post by Josephine Parker and into the net for the 1-0 lead.

In the 35th minute, Lobos Rush doubled its lead when Addyson Knowles sent a through ball to Piper Williams, who slipped behind the Pride SC defense for a breakaway. Williams took a shot that was initially saved by goalkeeper Joslyn Tronnes, but the rebound went directly back to Williams. Williams created space in the box and then slotted the shot home, making it a 2-0 lead in Lobos Rush’s favor.

Throughout the rest of the first half and most of the second, Lobos Rush locked down its defense, ensuring any scoring attempt by Pride SC was limited and quickly squashed whenever possible. Lobos Rush’s defensive play continued to excel, keeping the ball out of their net. In the 79th minute, Lobos Rush put the exclamation mark on the match, scoring its third goal to clinch the national championship. With the win, Lobos Rush earned its third consecutive clean sheet, an incredible display of team and individual defense.

After the game, Knowles was named the U15 Most Outstanding Player.

U14 Regional League National Champion – Quickstrike FC

At the U14 ECNL Regional League Girls National Championship match, Quickstrike FC and Beach FC (CA) played an incredibly tight match, one that ended by the slimmest of margins.

For the entirety of regulation, the two sides traded chances and possession, doing anything they could to find the back of the net. Quickstrike generated most of their scoring chances through set pieces, while Beach FC (CA) relied on plays in transition. Throughout both halves, both sides had multiple chances, but both goalkeepers stood tall, forcing extra time.

In the first half of extra time, Quickstrike FC finally broke through, converting on a set piece. With a corner kick from the right side, the serve went into the air, where the Beach FC (CA) goalkeeper attempted to punch the ball out. The move failed, and Quickstrike was able to volley a strike into the back of the net, taking a 1-0 lead.

Now facing defeat, Beach FC (CA) ramped up their pressure through play, and with two minutes left in the game, had their best scoring chance of the day. Beach FC (CA) worked the ball down to the left corner, then sent a pass back into the middle of the box for a wide open forward. Beach FC (CA) took a shot that was saved by the Quickstrike FC keeper, but trickled over the line to even the game at 1-1 and send the game to PKs.

In penalties, both sides scored on their first attempt, but Beach FC (CA)’s second shot was stopped by a diving save from Willa King, allowing Quickstrike FC to take the lead. That lead held through Round 5, and on the last shot of the game, Quickstrike FC’s shot rang off the left post, sending PKs into sudden death.

In the sixth round, Beach FC (VA)’s shot was once again saved by King, and this time Quickstrike FC left no doubt with a shot that froze the goalkeeper, securing the team a national championship.

U13 Regional League National Champion – Legends FC

It was the youngest age group at the ECNL Regional League Girls National Finals, but Legends FC and Lonestar SC put on a show in the National Championship match.

Legends and Lonestar traded chances from the opening whistle, with both teams looking to get the edge first, but it was Legends FC who earned the upper hand. In the 21st minute, Delilah Andrade received a pass as she was streaking past the Lonestar defense and managed to take a shot while off-balance. Her strike found its way into the top right corner of the net, giving the So Cal squad a 1-0 lead.

That lead carried through to the second half, where in the 45th minute, Lonestar SC earned a corner kick on the left side. The pass went into the box, but was quickly cleared by Legends, springing their forwards in transition. Legends FC carried the ball from midfield all the way into the 18-yard box, then ripped a shot past the Lonestar SC goalkeeper to take a 2-0 lead.

Armed with the 2-0 lead, Legends FC closed out the game without allowing a goal from Lonestar SC, earning a national title in the team’s first year in the league.
