Duquesne men’s soccer announces 2025 signing class, featuring 10 newcomers

Pittsburgh, Pa. – Head coach Chase Brooks of the Duquesne University men’s soccer team announced its 2025 recruiting class, with a total of 10 student-athletes joining the Dukes this fall.
Included among the group of newcomers are seven transfers and three freshmen that hail from six different states and three different countries.

Mathieu Brick

Oviedo, Fla. / Florida Virtual (Clemson)
Notes: Spent two seasons (2023, 2024) with Clemson out of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) … Appeared in one game with the Tigers, making NCAA Division I debut in a 6-0 win over Loyola (Md.) (9/10) as a sophomore … Member of 2023 Clemson team that claimed ACC Tournament Championship as well as NCAA Championship … Tigers closed the 2023 season with a 14-game unbeaten streak (10-0-4) … Played club soccer for Atlanta United … Served as team captain each of his four years (2019-23) with Atlanta United … Helped Atlanta United win Man City Cup, beating Chivas in the final, 3-2 … Finalist with Atlanta United in a Spanish tournament, falling to Real Madrid, 3-1.

Hákon Dagur Matthíasson

Adrian Rosario
5’10” | 165 | Defender
Weston, Fla. / Mater Virtual Academy
Notes: Youngest player to make debut for Puerto Rico Men’s National Team (16 years, 6 months) … Earned start vs. Haiti and three starting assignments overall … Member of U15 MLS Next championship team … Member of U17 GA Cup Premier Bracket championship squad … Competed in club soccer for Inter Miami.
Quotable: “Adrian is a smart, experienced defender for his age,” Brooks said. “His time with Inter Miami and the Puerto Rican National Team will be a big asset to our program.”
Led by Brooks, Duquesne finished with an overall record of 11-4-2 (.706) last season, including a mark of 5-2-1 (.688) in the Atlantic 10. The Dukes return seven starters from that squad, including midfielders Jaxon Ervin and Ashton Jell and forward Dakota Jonke. The trio combined for 21 points last year courtesy of seven goals and seven assists, with Ervin finishing second for Duquesne in scoring with 10 points.
