Duke women’s soccer team welcomes 5 new Blue Devils for Spring 2026

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women’s soccer head coach Kieran Hall has welcomed five newcomers to the program as classes opened this week for the 2026 spring semester.

A pair of transfers – Katie Shea Collins and Sam Courtwright – along with three freshmen – Natalie Chudowsky, Rylee McLanahan and Sofia Nuñez – moved in this week.

Courtwright, a native of Dallas, Texas, joined the Blue Devils after spending the last three years at Texas Tech.  She started all 20 matches for the Red Raiders in 2025, registering four goals and seven assists.  A 5-8 midfielder, Courtwright was a First Team All-Big 12 selection and a United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Midwest Region honoree.  She missed the 2024 season with a knee injury and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

One of the top scorers nationally the last two years, Collins arrived in Durham following two seasons at South Carolina. Over her career, she has scored 23 goals and added eight assists for 54 points in 38 matches, while earning United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-America in 2025.  As a sophomore, Collins totaled 10 goals, five assists and 25 points as she started all 19 contests.  Out of her 23 career goals, 10 were game winners.  Collins, a 5-3 forward from Gallatin, Tennessee, will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Blue Devils.

The No. 6 overall recruit in the 2026 class, McLanahan arrives in Durham from Edmond, Oklahoma.  McLanahan registered impressive numbers at Edmond High School with 107 goals, 42 assists and 256 points in 45 games.  She has represented the United States on various levels, including  a recent trip to Portugal with the U-17 Youth National Team.  A two-time Oklahoma Girls’ Soccer Gatorade Player of the Year, McLanahan was a 2023 ECNL National Champion and player of the match.

Chudowsky, a product of Westport, Connecticut, is ranked No. 32 nationally in the class by TopDrawerSoccer.  A 5-7 midfielder/defender, Chudowsky was a member of the 2025 U.S. U-17 U.S. Youth National Team at the Women’s World Cup.  She has trained with Gotham FC of the NWSL since 2025.  Over three years of soccer at Staples High School, she accumulated 49 goals, 47 assists and 145 points.  Chudowsky was an All-America selection as a sophomore and junior.

A 5-6 midfielder from Bonita, California, Nuñez represented Mexico at the 2024 U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic and has received eight call-ups with Mexico Youth National Teams as a junior and senior.  She is a five-time captain with the Rebels Soccer Club and is three-time ECNL Southwest First Team All-Conference honoree.  In three years at Bonita Vista High School, Nuñez totaled 31 goals, 20 assists and 82 points.
