DPL holds second annual SUMMIT event in Dallas, crowning U13-U19 champs

DALLAS, TX – The Development Player League (DPL) hosted the second annual SUMMIT event in Dallas this month, crowning champions across the U13-U19 age groups.

The SUMMIT is a cup-based competition for the best teams in the DPL. Earned through conference standings and national event results, over 260 teams were invited to compete for a championship. Along with the cup competition, The SUMMIT also featured showcase action for U13 and U14 teams.

Miami-based Pinecrest Premier had an outstanding showing at The SUMMIT, winning a pair of division titles. Pinecrest Premier 2008 captured the U16 Champions Division title, while the club’s 05/06 squad won the U19 Europa Division.

Several other clubs had a first place finisher and a second place team across multiple divisions. City SC San Diego saw their 2008 side win the U16 Europa Division, and their 2007 side finished as finalists in the U17 Champions Division.

North Carolina club Triangle United had their 2010 team claim the U14 Champions Division, while their 2007 team placed second in the U17 Europa Division.

Georgia’s Tormenta FC Academy did the same, earning the title of finalists in the U13 Europa Division and claiming the championship in the U15 Champions Division.
