WASHINGTON (Via DC Stoddert) – DC Stoddert Soccer has partnered with the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) in a landmark agreement to run DPR’s Tiny Tots Program at Takoma Park Recreation Center.

The Tiny Tots soccer program is described by DPR as “a beginner/novice program offered to boys and girls who are 3-6 years old. Practice activities will be led by DPR and DC Stoddert Soccer staff and are designed to teach players the fundamentals of sport and soccer in a fun, non-competitive environment.”

The goal of this program is to ensure each player is having fun, staying active, and growing their passion for the sport of soccer, while also improving their basic skill level.

DC Stoddert will oversee the program at the Takoma Park Recreation Center and will staff the program for the duration of the season. Both parties hope to expand this partnership moving forward and grow beyond the one site managed by DC Stoddert this Spring.

“Our mission at DC Stoddert is to provide soccer to all communities within DC. We have made strides to open programming to all players and our goal for 2019 is to serve 300 players at no cost to the parents,” said DC Stoddert Programs Director Alex Minton

“This is a collaborative effort between DC Stoddert and DPR, in which both have the same vision when providing soccer to kids.”
