Champions crowned in VYSA Spring State Cups
The Spring edition of the Virginia Youth Soccer Association State Championships (Virginia State Cup) finished up this past weekend with a round of semifinal and final matches at the Ukrop Park Soccer Complex in Richmond.
The Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) Spring State Cup competition includes teams in the Under-12 to -14 and U-19 age groups, boys and girls.
Northern Virginia’s PWSI Courage came out strong and walked away with two State Cup champion teams, including their PWSI Courage 99 Red boys and PWSI Courage 98 Red girls.
Both claimed their title in close matches, with the U-14 Girls final carrying into penalty kicks against BRYC 98 Elite. In the U-13 Boys age group, the final ended in a close 3-2 result over the Richmond Kickers Elite White.
McLean 00 Hotspur Green and SYA Cardinals 00 Red swept past their competition with 3-0 final scores to become VYSA State Cup champions in the U-12 boys and U-12 Girls age groups, respectively.
The Region I Championships will be held June 27 – July 2 in Kingston, R.I.
