Champions crowned at Fredericksburg Cup girls weekend

Four Fredericksburg Area Soccer Association teams took titles at this past weekend’s Fredericksburg Cup girls weekend.
FASA Premiere Impact 96 took home the Under-18 girls championship with a 1-0 win over Chesterfield United 96G ASL Academy.
The two teams played to a 1-1 tie in the opening game of the tournament in Bracket A play. FASA Premier Impact then defeated FCSC Blackwatch 4-1 and then FASA Impact Premier White 6-0 in the semifinals to reach the final. Chesterfield United, meanwhile, defeated FCSC Blackwatch 1-0 and then Winchester United 2-0 in the semifinals.
Winchester United won Bracket B by defeating FASA Impact Premier White 2-0 and SCSL Ninja Turtles 10-0.
In U-11 play, FASA Impact finished 3-0-1 to finish at the top of Bracket A. In U-12s, FASA Impact Elite 01 finished 3-0-0 after defeating Chesterfield United FC 00 4-0 in the final. FASA U-13 Girls Premier took the U-13 title after a 4-2 win over Burke Athletic Warriors in the final. Both teams went 2-0-1 in bracket play to reach the final.
McLean MPS Extreme Green won the U-14 bracket with a 4-0-0 record, outscoring its four opponents 22-0.
The Fredericksburg Cup continues Aug. 25-26 with boys weekend.
