Celebration of Women’s Soccer game to take place as part of 10th annual August Cup

As part of the 10th annual August Cup at the Maryland Soccerplex in Germantown, Md. this weekend, there will be a Celebration of Women’s Soccer charity match Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Money raised will go toward DC Scores and Michael Washo’s Art from the Heart Foundation.

Allie Long (Former Freedom & Sky Blue FC)

Caitlin Miskel (Former Freedom)
Cat Whitehill Former USWNT – Freedom Team Captain, Atlanta Beat)
Joanna Lohman (Former Freedom; DCU Women)
Lianne Sanderson (Former Philly Independence, England, Espanyol)

The August Cup will feature 277 boys’ and girls’ teams playing in the Under-9 through U-19 age groups, with games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. The weather forecast for the weekend calls for temperatures near 80 degrees and a 40 percent chance for scattered or isolated thunderstorms.
