Big 12 announces 2025 Preseason Coaches Poll and All-Conference Team

IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference has announced the 2025 soccer preseason poll and team ahead of the upcoming season.
TCU, the 2024 Big 12 regular season champion, was voted the favorite by the league’s head coaches. The Horned Frogs secured 223 points and 13 first-place votes, while Texas Tech earned 202 points and two first-place votes.
BYU collected 191 points and tallied one first-place vote. West Virginia was voted fourth place with 172 points, while Kansas made its first appearance within the top 5 since 2015. The Jayhawks received 167 points after winning the 2024 Sprouts Farmers Market Big 12 Soccer Championship.
The preseason team consists of 27 student-athletes, with five positions added due to ties. Twenty selections to the 2025 preseason team earned Big 12 honors from a season ago. The list includes Arizona State’s Kierra Blundell (2025 Big 12 Freshman of the Year), Colorado’s Jordan Nytes (2024 Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Year), TCU’s Bella Diorio (2024 Big 12 Forward of the Year), and Texas Tech’s Macy Blackburn (2024 Big 12 Defender of the Year) and Sam Courtwright returning from injury after claiming the league’s Freshman of the Year honor during the 2023 season.

BYU and the Red Raiders led all teams with five selections, Colorado and TCU garnered four honors each, while Kansas and Oklahoma State tallied three honorees. Arizona State, Baylor and West Virginia had earned one selection apiece.
Last season, seven Big 12 teams earned bids to the 2024 NCAA Tournament, the most from the league since 2003. The 2025 season begins Thursday, Aug. 14, with Big 12 play starting Thursday, Sept. 18.
