(Via Alliance SC) – Alliance Soccer Club announced the appointment of Jerry Jenkins as President of Alliance Soccer Club and LOUYAA Soccer Commissioner.

Alliance Soccer Club has over 400 travel players, over 250 seasonal recreational players and over 200 seasonal academy players in the program.

A 25 year resident of Frederick County, Jenkins brings more than 10 years of experience leading and coaching youth soccer programs in the Frederick. He also served as President of Frederick Soccer Club (FSC) for the last 10 years and served as the Alliance Assistant Commissioner the last 3 years. Jenkins has also coached teams at various levels within Alliance and youth soccer in Frederick County. He currently coaches soccer at Frederick High School, where he has been since 2012.

In 2010, Jenkins, representing FSC, met with Mark Timberlake, representing LOUYAA, and Ken Diehl, representing Damascus Soccer Club to discuss the changing soccer landscape in Frederick and Montgomery Counties and how the three clubs could better serve the players and families in their respective programs. It was from these discussions that Alliance Soccer Club was formed in 2011.

“I am thrilled and quite frankly humbled to have this opportunity to be the President of Alliance Soccer Club and work for such a distinguished organization,” said Jenkins. “I am truly excited to build on the great work that has already been accomplished in the last four years by Mark Timberlake, Ken Diehl, myself and the Alliance committee, players and families. This sport is something that I am extremely passionate about and I look forward to leading such a wonderful organization. It is a joy to work with such an exemplary group of young boys and girls that play in this club and watch them continually demonstrate a commitment to their sport and to their communities. With the continued dedication of our Alliance coaches, committee members, families and supporters, we will continue to grow this amazing organization into a sustainable and vibrant club.”

Diehl is now currently serving as Vice President of the organization. He has served as President of Damascus Soccer Club since 2009 and has served on the Alliance Executive Committee since its inception in 2011.

“I look forward to working with Jerry Jenkins and the rest of the Alliance club staff to continue our collective work to evolve Alliance Soccer Club into a model club within our region,” said Diehl.

Mike Simpson will now be serving as the LOUYAA/Alliance Executive Committee member. Simpson has been serving as the LOUYAA recreational soccer director for the last two years and brings experience coaching and directing young soccer organizations and working with not-for-profit organizations.
