Following up on the earlier announcements of the Southeast Conference and Northeast Conference of the Boys ECNL as qualifiers in the newly created Elite National Premier League (ENPL), the initial clubs of the Boys ECNL Midwest Conference for the 2017-2018 season have been announced.
An initial group of 12 clubs has been announced as the inaugural members of the Boys ECNL Southeast Conference. The Boys ECNL will feature competition in 5 age groups (U14, U15, U16, U17, and U18/19) and will begin play in the 2017-2018 season.
The Elite National Premier League (ENPL) has announced its first qualifying league and first qualifying conference for the 2017-18 season. Qualifying boys teams in five age groups from 14-U to 19-U from the Virginia NPL and from the Boys ECNL Southeast Conference will advance to the ENPL Playoffs in June 2018.
US Club Soccer and the Elite Clubs National League are collaborating to create a new national competition and development platform for U-14 through U-18/19 boys beginning in August 2017.
The Elite Clubs National League rapidly became the most talent-dense national girls soccer competition in the years following its founding in 2009, only to see U.S. Soccer stand up a direct competitor with this year's announcement of the federation's new Girls Development Academy. Now the ECNL is making a bold move of its own.
