U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team midfielder Gedion Zelalem has been ruled out of the FIFA U-20 World Cup after sustaining an injury to his left knee and was subbed out in the 34th minute of the USA's opening Group F game against Ecuador.

The U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team used Luca De La Torre’s cool finish in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time to earn a valuable 3-3 draw against Ecuador in the opening match of the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup at Incheon Football Stadium. The goal came on the heels of a brace from U-20 MNT debutant Josh Sargent, whose two goals helped the USA battle back from an early 2-0 deficit.

Following completion of the 2017 CONCACAF Under-17 Championship, the Technical Study Group announced the tournament’s Best XI and handed out awards. The selection contains four players from the champion Mexico, five from runner-up United States and one each from Costa Rica and Honduras.

Having already qualified for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup, the U.S. Under-17 Men's National Team played to a 1-1 draw with Mexico before falling 5-4 on penalty kicks in the final of the 2017 CONCACAF U-17 Championship at Estadio Rommel Fernandez. The USA finishes the tournament with a 5-0-1 record and now turns its focus to preparing for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup, set for Oct. 6-28 in India.

USA qualifies for FIFA U-17 World Cup with 6-2 vs Cuba
The U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team qualified for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup as well as the 2017 CONCACAF U-17 Championship final with a 6-2 win against Cuba in the teams’ final match of the classification stage.
