U.S. U-16 Girls National Team roster selected for October camp in Kansas City

ATLANTA – The U.S. Under-16 Girls’ National Team will come together from Oct. 23-31 in Kansas City, Mo. for a training camp that will feature two matches against the England U-16 GNT.

Becky Edwards, a newly hired coach for the younger age groups of the U.S. Women’s and Girls’ National Teams, will head that camp that features 24 players, all born in 2011.

At the end of the camp, the USA will square off against its counterparts from England, playing matches on Oct. 27 (4 p.m. CT) and Oct. 30 (Noon CT) at Riverside Stadium at KC Current Sports Complex in Riverside, Mo.

This is the fourth training camp of the year for the U.S. U-16 GNT but second for players born in 2011, as the age groups changed during the summer. As Katie Schoepfer transitions from the U.S. U-16 GNT head coach back to coach the U.S. U-17 WNT (primarily 2010 birth years), Edwards will take charge of this 2011 group until the end of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, at which time current U.S. U-17 WNT head coach Ciara Crinion will take over the 2011s in preparation for qualifying for the 2028 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and Schoepfer will continue to coach the 2010s in preparation for qualifying for the 2027 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
