Drexel women’s soccer program welcomes arrival of 7 newcomers for 2026 season

PHILADELPHIA — Head coach Shannon Grogan and the Drexel women’s soccer team welcomes seven newcomers for the 2026 season.

The additions include three freshmen and four transfers, representing five states and two Canadian provinces.

Reyes Aronson, Julia Dunaway and Rebecca Ulmer make up the first year class for the Dragons.

“All three have tremendous potential and a strong desire to help grow our program in their first collegiate season,” said Grogan. “My staff and I are excited to see them embrace the gritty work ethic that comes with competing in Philadelphia. We are thrilled to support their development both as players and as student-athletes during their time at Drexel.”

Reyes Aronson | D | Fr. | Palo Alto, Calif. | Palo Alto

Aronson attended Palo Alto High School in California. The freshman was a two-year captain, earning First Team All-SCVAL honors twice.

Julia Dunaway | D | Fr. | Wheeling, West Virginia | Wheeling Park

Dunaway comes to Philadelphia after graduating from Wheeling Park in West Virginia. The defender was a two-time captain of the soccer team, earning three all-state honors three times. She was also named the 2024 AAA West Virginia Soccer Player of the Year.

Rebecca Ulmer | D | Fr. | Calgary, Alberta, Canada | Springbank Community

Ulmer is one of two international newcomers for the 2026 campaign. The Calgary, Alberta, native was a four-time division champion and three-time zone champion during her high school career. In addition to soccer, she competed in basketball, track & field, and flag football.

Izzy Allred, Taylor Hannah, Ava Skaggs and Jaida Manderson make up the Dragons incoming transfers class, adding experience and competitive minutes in some of the top conferences in Division I.

“We are excited to welcome Izzy, Taylor, Ava and Jaida to our program,” said Grogan. “They have a hunger to prove themselves in a new environment and we are confident they can immediately step in to help us build towards our program goals.”

Izzy Allred | M | So. | Paoli, Pa. | Conestoga | High Point

Allred comes to Drexel after spending one season at High Point. The Paoli, Pa., native helped lead her high school team to back-to-back PIAA 4A State finals, earning First Team All-Main Line and Second Team All-Central League honors. She also was invited to the 2022 US Youth National Training Center. The sophomore made one appearance in her freshman season, logging 20 minutes.

Taylor Hannah | GK | Sr. | Chandler, Az. | Hamilton | Oregon State

The Arizona native adds depth to the Dragons’ goalkeeper unit. Hannah arrives in University City after spending three seasons at Oregon State. In high school, the three-year starter recorded 73 saves while logging more than 2,000 minutes in goal. She also served as a team captain at both Chandler High School and Arizona Arsenal ECNL.

Ava Skaggs | M | So. | Ellicott City, Md. | Mount Hebron | Eastern Michigan

Skaggs joins the Dragons after spending her freshman campaign at Eastern Michigan. The Ellicott City, Md., product was a two-time Maryland First Team All-State, two-time First Team All-Howard County and two-time First Team All-Baltimore Sun All-Metro recipient. She was also named All-Region Fall South Team by United Soccer Coaches. The midfielder helped her team win the state title in 2021 and was a runner-up in 2022 and 2023.

Jaida Manderson | D | So. | Whitby, Ontario, Canada | All Saints Catholic | Western Michigan

Manderson made ten appearances for Western Michigan in her first collegiate season. She logged 147 minutes played, recording one helper. The Ontario native was a member of the Broncos team that won the regular season MAC Championship. Manderson also played for club team Markham SC.
