Loudoun United FC to launch men’s USL Academy League team for 2026

LEESBURG, Va. & TAMPA, Fla. – The United Soccer League (USL) announced today that Loudoun United FC will launch a men’s USL Academy League team for the 2026 season.

The establishment of the U20 team fully connects Loudoun’s player development pathway in the USL ecosystem from youth soccer (USL Youth) to its pre-professional squads (USL Academy and USL League Two) all the way to its professional senior team (USL Championship). The Academy League team will target top prospects from across the region, creating a structured, high-performance environment to help players take the next step beyond the traditional youth level.

“I am really excited to coach the U-20 Loudoun United Academy Team this summer,” said Haris Memisevic, Loudoun United FC U-20 Head Coach. “The opportunity to play a small part in these players’ journeys is something I take great pride in. This is an important stage in their development, and I am looking forward to helping them continue to grow both on and off the field. It is an honor to be part of an environment that challenges young players and prepares them for the next level.”

Loudoun United will compete in USL Academy’s Chesapeake Division.
