Girls Academy 2025 Finals conclude in Virginia, U14-U17 national titles awarded

The 2024-25 Girls Academy season is officially in the books after the U14-U17 National Champions were crowned at the GA Finals in Richmond, VA.
FC United (U13) and Wasatch SC (U19) captured the first two GA National Championships in June during the GA Playoffs, where the U14-U17 age groups decided their quarterfinalists to set the stage for the GA Finals.
In total, six different clubs captured the league’s six titles, showing a strong level of parity across the GA. See below for a rundown of how each champion was crowned at the GA Finals.
U17 National Champions: Galaxy SC 2008
Illinois-based Galaxy SC 2008 took down New Jersey’s STA Soccer in the U17 finale, a high-flying battle which ended with a 3-2 scoreline. Galaxy’s offense was firing on all cylinders during their time in Virginia, scoring 9 total goals over 3 games. Galaxy notched a 2-0 clean sheet victory over IMG Academy in the quarterfinals, then they stormed past Tophat Gold in the semifinals with a decisive 4-1 effort.

U16 National Champions: Syracuse Development Academy 2009
Syracuse Development Academy 2009 opened the GA Finals with a gritty 2-1 victory over Galaxy SC in the quarterfinals. They followed that up with another battle to the end in the semifinals against Louisiana TDP Elite, in which SDA came out on top in a PK shootout (3-2) following a 2-2 draw. SDA did not leave the final to chance, as their defensive unit secured a clean sheet in a 2-0 defeat of Michigan Jaguars.

U15 National Champions: Tophat Gold 2010
Tophat Gold 2010 captured the U15 GA National Championship, in what proved to be an overall dominant performance at the GA Finals. The Georgia powerhouse brought some heavy defensive force during a pair of clean sheet wins during the quarterfinals and semifinals against West Florida Flames and SJEB FC, respectively. Tophat’s offense was also in top form, as they scored 8 total goals in Richmond, culminating with a 3-1 defeat of Galaxy SC in the title match. Nyla Brown recorded a brace and Izzy York scored once in the final for Tophat.

U14 National Champions: Indy Premier SC 2011
Indy Premier won 3 consecutive hard-fought games in Virginia, all decided by a single goal. After edging out Columbus United in the quarterfinals and Lou Fusz SC in the semifinals, Indy Premier emerged over NEFC 2-1 in the title match. Olivia Jones and Zoey Montgomery provided the scoring in the final against NEFC, finishing off some impressive team build-up with strong finishes. (HIGHLIGHTS)
