Experienced defender Taylor Dever joins Oregon on transfer from UC Davis

EUGENE, OR – Taylor Dever, a starting defender who helped UC Davis post its best record as an NCAA Division I program, is transferring to Oregon for her final season of eligibility, head coach Taylor Dever, a starting defender who helped UC Davis post its best record as an NCAA Division I program, is transferring to Oregon announced.

Dever started all 20 games on the back line for an Aggies team that led the Big West in scoring in 2024 and went 13-5-2. She had one assist. Dever played in 40 career games (27 starts) at UC Davis and attempted 14 shots.

Joyner has now signed 13 new players who will compete for the Ducks this fall. Young will join transfers Cailin Bloom (California), Kate Cheldelin (Washington), Carys Hall (Alabama), Abella Hunter (UC Davis), Gia Kiesling (UC Davis), Elise Picard (UC Davis), Bryana Pizarro (Washington State) and Jasmine Young (Boise State), and incoming freshmen Miya Alamares (Woodland, Calif.), Addisen Boyer (Oak Harbor, Wash.), Izzy Sawyers (San Clemente, Calif.) and Selah Simms (Brentwood, Calif.) in Joyner’s first recruiting class.

BEFORE OREGON: Played three seasons for coach Tracy Joyner at UC Davis … Played in 40 matches for the Aggies with 27 starts … 14 career shots and one assist … As a junior in 2024, started all 20 games on the back line for a UC Davis squad that went 13-5-2, led the Big West in scoring and set a school record for wins in a season as an NCAA Division I program … Lone assist came against UC Santa Barbara in the Big West Tournament … Attempted two shots … Her sophomore year (2023), played in 10 matches and started three for a total of 298 minutes … Had five shots … Attempted a season-high two shots against Idaho State … As a freshman in 2022, played 10 games and started four totaling 300 minutes … Attempted seven shots, two coming in her debut versus UTEP.

HIGH SCHOOL: Led Chico High School to Eastern Athletic Conference, CIF Northern Section, and CIF NorCal Division III titles her senior season … Scored 12 goals and had 37 assists as a senior, garnering All-Eastern Athletic Conference honors … Led Chico to a Northern Section title her junior season and the EAC championship as a freshman … Played club soccer for Davis Legacy ECNL, earning All-Conference in 2021.
