U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team head coach Tab Ramos names 20-player roster for training camp in Houston

U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team head coach Tab Ramos has named a 20-player roster for a five-day training camp in Houston, Texas, followed by international games against Uruguay and Chile.

The domestic training camp runs from May 30 to June 3 at the Houston Amateur Sports Park, the permanent training home of Major League Soccer’s Houston Dynamo. Then the U-20 MNT travels for two matches against Uruguay, on June 6 and June 8, followed by a June 12 game against Chile in Santiago.

The U-20s recently convened for an April camp in Portland, Ore., that was capped off by a 1-0 victory against the University of Washington on April 15, highlighted by an 89th-minute, game-winning goal from Victor Pineda.

Roster Notes

Fourteen of the 20 players on the roster are members of the Development Academy.
All 20 players were born in 1993, and four players were born on successive dates: midfielder Caleb Stanko (July 26, 1993), forward James Rogers (July 27), defender Jordan McCrary (July 28) and forward Daniel Cuevas (July 29).
Midfielder Mikey Lopez and defenders McCrary and Boyd Okwuonu are teammates at North Carolina. The Tar Heels won the 2011 College Cup against Charlotte with a 1-0 victory, marking North Carolina’s first men’s soccer title in 10 years. All three players started and played the full 90 minutes in the final.
