Continue reading for a preview of the 2017 Manhattan SC Kick-Off Classic U-16 Boys Showcase Platinum Division. The Manhattan Kick-Off Classic will be played March 3-5 in New York City, featuring over 600 elite level teams from the U-12 through U-19 age groups.

AC Connecticut B01 (CT)
Head Coach: Doug Rivard
One of the top teams in Connecticut, the Elite Development Program (EDP) OPEN Cup Finalists are making a return trip to the Manhattan SC Kickoff Classic with hopes of bringing the title back to the Nutmeg state. The team is ready to compete with a strong showing in EDP League competition that includes some of the best teams in region and nation.

Manhattan SC Emelec (ENY)
Head Coach: Colin Hodge
A perennial New York State power, the host Emelec are well prepared to face some stiff national level competition.  After strong showings in top flights at the Puma Columbus Cup (Champions), Bethesda Premier Cup, Massapequa Premier Winter College Showcase and Disney Soccer Showcase, Dominican College Head Coach Colin Hodge will look to lead his team on their home turf to bring home the gold.

Levittown Gunners FC (ENY)
Head Coach: Gary Book
A well-known national powerhouse, the top ranked team in New York comes to the big city looking to continue their winning ways and add to their already extensive trophy case. With titles at prestigious tournaments such as FC Delco Players Cup, Massapequa Premier Winter College Showcase, EDP Cup Fall Showcase and Holmdel, the Long Island side looks to add one more after their trip to the Big Apple. A second place finish in EDP league play has Levittown ready for anyone that crosses their path.

Alleycats Gunners 2001B Elite (ENY)
Head Coach: Jason Ramundo
A national top 30 team and currently #2 in New York, this strong Albany side looks to duplicate their outstanding run to a Manhattan Soccer Club Kickoff Classic title one year ago. With fall a season title at the TOWSC Premier College Showcase and a finalist placement at the EDP Cup Fall Showcase, Coach Ramundo has his team ready to take on top rate competition and continue their successful ways.

Bloomfield Cheetahs (NJ)
Head Coach: John Ricca
The New Jersey State Cup semifinalists and Massapequa Premier Winter College Showcase Champions enter the Manhattan SC Kickoff Classic with major momentum on their side. The Cheetahs finished in second place in an extremely competitive EDP league and are battle tested for New York City.

Smithtown Chelsea (ENY)
Head Coach: Danny Merida
The defending ENYYSA State Cup Champions had a memorable 2016 with their trip to the USYSA Region 1 Championships, a familiar territory for Smithtown teams past and present. With championships in the highly competitive EDP league play and at the Massapequa Premier Winter College Showcase, Chelsea are well prepared for a run at the Manhattan Soccer Club Kickoff Classic title 2017.

Lake Grove Newfield SC United (ENY)
Head Coach: Frank Stagnitta
The Long Island side has always constructed a program to compete against the nation’s best competition. After placing at East Meadow and the TOWSC Premier College Showcase, Lake Grove comes to New York City with high hopes of bringing a title back on I-495 East after a finalist performance in 2015.

Brentwood SC Arsenal NPL 01 (ENY)
Head Coach: Randy Jean-Baptiste
2016 was memorable year for Brentwood, capped with a run to the NPL National Semifinals in Aurora, Colorado. Hailing from a Long Island community rich in soccer tradition and with national competition experience in hand, the Arsenal comes to New York City looking for a title after their 2016 finalist performance. With fall titles at Bethesda Premier Cup, EDP Cup Fall Showcase and a semifinalist performance at the Disney Soccer Showcase, the Long Island side is primed for a great year and potentially a return trip to Nationals.
