WNY Flash sign Jamaican international Omolyn Davis

The Western New York Flash of the Women’s Professional Soccer League (WPSL) Elite have signed Omolyn Davis.

Davis, a Jamaican International, was selected 10th overall by magicJack in the 2011 WPS draft. In her rookie season in the WPS, Davis started 5 of the 6 games that she appeared in, scoring 1 goal. After the 2011 WPS season concluded, Davis took her trade to FC Energiya of Russia.

A graduate of the George Madson University, Davis was named first-team All-Region, first-team All-CAA and first-team All-ECAC in 2009 after transferring from NAIA Lindsay Wilson College.  The summer prior to her senior season, she played in the USL W-League for the Washington Freedom Futures and was named to the 2010 W-League All League Team scoring seven goals and helping lead her team to a 10-1-1 record. She capped off a stellar 2010 senior campaign by being named to the Hermann Trophy watch list, First team All CAA and was the first player in over a decade from George Mason to be named All American (4th team). Davis was first in the CAA in points per game, second in assists per game and third in goals per game. She finished the year with 29 points on 10 goals and nine assists. Despite just two seasons in the Green and Gold, she finished her career among the top 15 in school history in points, goals and assists.

The Flash opened their season on Friday, May 12 with a 4-1 victory over  FC Indiana, WPSL & US Open Cup Champions in 2005 & 2007. Spanish International Adriana scored three goals in the match for WNY, scoring the first ever hat trick at Sahlen’s Stadium. The Flash play Paul Riley and the NY Fury on Saturday, May 19 at 7:00 PM at Sahlen’s Stadium.
