Super Y League adds 10 new clubs for 2016 season

TAMPA, Fla. (Via Super Y League)  – The Super Y League has announced the addition of 10 new clubs that will begin competition in the 2016 season. Spread across eight states, the new additions will add at least 65 new teams to the league.

“The Super Y League exists to offer clubs and players exclusive and elite experiences,” said Joel Nash, Manager of Youth League Operations and Growth. “We are very pleased to accept these teams into the league, and are sure they bring the quality and professionalism we look for from new clubs. This is only the beginning of our League’s expansion; we have big ambitions and are confident of many more clubs for the 2016 season.”

Two key new additions will spearhead the SYL’s establishment of divisions in both Texas and the Carolinas, as the Houston Dutch Lions and Carolina Football Club both join the league. More announcements regarding the new divisions are expected to be made soon.

Other new additions include Clarkstown Soccer Club (N.Y.), NJ Elite (N.J.), AFC Lightning (Ga.) and the Chicago Soccer Academy (Ill.), while two clubs join the SYL in Florida, with Tallahassee Tottenham Hotspur FC and Davie United SC added in the Sunshine State.

The SYL has also added two clubs in Virginia, with FCV Annandale and Culpeper Soccer Club the newest additions to an already strong region for the league. FCV Annandale Director of Coaching Richie Burke said he appreciated the flexibility his club would have in its roster makeup, which fits with the club’s development philosophy.

“We particularly like the Super Y League’s flexible rosters, which allow for larger squads and mixed groups – all of which enable us to create a really positive player development experience for our membership,” Burke said.

The 2015 SYL North American Finals kick off in less than a month from the world-class facilities of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. For more information on the Super Y League, visit SYLSoccer.com.
