Stafford Soccer hires former SASA standout Nick Fogelsong

Stafford Soccer announced the addition of former SASA standout, Nick Fogelsong, to their
staff.

Fogelsong moved to Fredericksburg when he was seven and played for SASA until age fifteen. In the following years before going to college, Fogelsong took his travel career to Richmond, Virginia where he first played for Kyle Lessig, the current Director of Coaching for Stafford Soccer. At the time, Lessig was coaching for VA CASL.

“Nick was one of the most technically gifted young players I have ever coached,” said Lessig. “He truly possessed a love for the game and lead on field by consistently raising the level of play.”

Fogelsong was also coached by Lessig in the summer of 2007, when he played for the Richmond Kickers PDL team while he was preparing for his first college season. Fogelsong played college soccer at Old Dominion University where he was a defensive center midfielder for the Monarchs. While at ODU, he studied IT and Psychology.

“It is great to be back in the area sharing the game I love with the club that ignited my passion for soccer from the beginning. I enjoyed my time working with Kyle (Lessig) as a player and look forward to what he has to teach me in the world of coaching.”

This fall Fogelsong is working with the U15 Girl’s White team, the U12 Girl’s Blue team, and a number of Stafford’s additional training programs.
