Robert Helms steps down as Chantilly SC President to focus on international missions work

Following nine years of serving with Chantilly SC including six as President, Robert Helms is shifting his volunteer energy to focus on international missions work. Helms will help with developmental programs in Paraguay, sports camps in Eastern Europe and grass roots soccer initiatives to grow the under-served and under-funded children at home in the United States.

Along with his stint as President at CSC, Helms was on the Board of Directors for eight years and spent three years as the VYSA NCSL Commissioner. He spent 15 years coaching youth soccer from the U-4 to the U-16 age groups, and helped grow CSC from 16 to 37 teams at its peak, introducing recreational soccer to a traditionally travel-only club and creating one of the first crossover programs in the area.

Helms is succeeded by Darryl Forrest, a long-time CSC volunteer and Board Member.
